Mind and Destiny

“I make no pretension to patriotism. So long as my voice can be heard ... I will hold up America to the lightning scorn of moral indignation. In doing this, I shall feel myself discharging the duty of a true patriot; for he is a lover of his country who rebukes and does not excuse its sins. It is righteousness that exalteth a nation while sin is a reproach to any people.”- Frederick Douglass

Fifty-five Percent Approval

Under the Obama administration America fought its way back from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.  Our businesses have turned devastating job losses into 15 million new jobs.  Our government’s bailout of the auto industry, with the backing of United Automobile Workers, has resulted in American workers making the best cars in the world, and we’re selling more cars than ever.
Our country is no longer dependence on foreign oil, and we’ve more than doubled our production of renewable energy.  Last year, incomes rose faster than at any time on record.  At the same time poverty dropped by the largest amount since 1968.  The uninsured rate is at an all-time low, because 20 million people now have health insurance, who didn’t have it prior to the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act .
More of our brave troops are home with their families, and justice has been delivered justice to bin Laden.  Today wherever they live in America can marry whoever they love.
There is almost no economic measure by which our citizens are not substantially better off today than they were when President Obama took office.
That is an example of what a hard working and determined American citizens, supported by a Democratic president and a Democratic majority in Congress can accomplish together.
According to a CNN/ORC poll announced on Oct 7th. Obama's approval rating stood at 55 percent, the highest mark of his second term, and matching his best at any time since his first year in office.
On the other hand George W. Bush’s favorability rating was 22 percent and Cheney’s was 13 percent when they left office.  That legacy, was determined by those Americans, who endured 8 years of Bush's presidency.

Why would anyone vote for a Republican candidate?
