Mind and Destiny

“I make no pretension to patriotism. So long as my voice can be heard ... I will hold up America to the lightning scorn of moral indignation. In doing this, I shall feel myself discharging the duty of a true patriot; for he is a lover of his country who rebukes and does not excuse its sins. It is righteousness that exalteth a nation while sin is a reproach to any people.”- Frederick Douglass

Foreign Policy

As Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady, Hillary Clinton represented our country abroad and help shape our foreign policy at home.  She has offered a clear strategy on how to defeat ISIS, strengthen our alliances, and make sure Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.

She understands that voters aren’t merely electing a President, but also choosing a Commander-in-Chief, who will be deciding questions of war and peace.  Hillary Clinton has actually been in the Situation Room with President Obama to provide advise on tough choices.

As president Donald Trump would take our country down a dangerous path.  His ideas are dangerously incoherent.  He doesn’t have a strategy, and is temperamentally unfit to hold an office that requires knowledge, stability and responsibility.  He shouldn’t be trusted with the nuclear codes.

Trump said that more countries should have nuclear weapons, including Saudi Arabia.  He threatened to abandon our NATO allies, and those countries who are cooperating with us to eliminate terrorists abroad before they strike our homeland.

He’d order our military to commit war crimes by torturing and murdering civilians who are related to suspected terrorists.

He boasted, that he doesn’t have to listen to our generals, admirals, or ambassadors because he has: “a very good brain.  I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me.”  He praised Vladimir Putin and picked fights with the British prime minister, the mayor of London, the German chancellor, the president of Mexico and the Pope.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton has experience with the Chinese over a climate deal in Copenhagen, brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, negotiating the reduction of nuclear weapons with Russia, pushing for global sanctions against Iran, and has stood up for the rights of women, religious minorities and LGBT people around the world.
